Travel restrictions of covid-19 caused irreparable disruption to the flow of thousands of entry level agricultural workers for Australian farms. Many incentives for rural work-and-travel in Australia have been removed so this era of readily available entry-level staff is now gone and farming businesses across Australia are struggling to find workers to harvest crops and complete basic annual farming tasks.

This shortage of agricultural workers is putting increasing stress on family farms and corporate agricultural businesses but we have developed a solution.

Drover Ag has partnered with trusted international agents and developed a new Australian-based subsidiary of Drover Ag, called AgVenture Australia to bring, enthusiastic, educated and skilled agricultural workers and graduates to Australia to work, experience the Australian lifestyle, and progress their career.

How do I apply?

If you are interested, please sign up and we will send more information on fees and minimum requirements to be involved. There is no cost for the initial registration and no obligation to proceed.

How does it work?

The application and acceptance process is very similar to hiring any worker. We will provide extra background checks including full screening, video interview and English language assessment prior to shortlisting.

Employer screening

For the benefit of both employer and employee, we screen the place of employment, duties, working conditions and inclusions to ensure there is a good fit and fairness for all.

Wages

International workers have equal rights, must be paid award wages and superannuation the same as Australian workers.

Employment terms

Most participants in the AgVenture program are generally looking for 3-6 months full time employment so is perfectly suited to harvest, mustering and other busy times.

What about the red tape?

Only workers with valid working rights come through our program, these are not sponsored international workers. We handle all the red tape and you employ them as you would any other worker.
